What is The Green Team?

The Green Team isn’t just an environmental club; it’s a movement. Sponsored by the Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy & Environmental Affairs and Department of Environmental Protection, this program is designed for students from kindergarten to twelfth grade. It’s an interactive educational platform empowering both students and teachers to enact positive change through waste reduction, recycling, composting, energy conservation, and pollution prevention.

Participants of The Green Team receive a wealth of educational resources, including classroom posters, lesson plans, recycling tips, and engaging activities. Every class that takes The Green Team Pledge receives a Certificate of Recognition and stands a chance to win exciting prizes. As classes complete more activities, they progress through levels and unlock even more valuable rewards.

How Can My Class Join The Green Team?

Joining The Green Team is simple:

  1. Submit your completed Green Team registration form.
  2. Receive your Green Team classroom kit, equipped with program guides, posters, and resources.
  3. Choose an activity from the program guide and engage your students.
  4. Track your progress with achievement stickers on your poster.
  5. Submit the Teacher Response Form to showcase your completed activities.
