BPI Certification Courses

CET is now offering BPI Building Analyst and Envelope Professional Certification classes.

Upcoming Classes

Building Analyst: September 13 through 17 (5 days)

Envelope Professional: September 20 through 22 (3 days)

Combined Building Analyst & Envelope: October 18 through 27 (8 days)

Classes are 8am to 5pm each day.

The unprecedented funding for residential energy efficiency retrofit work and weatherization assistance programs under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) has created an urgent need for trained, qualified home performance specialists. That means BPI certified professionals are in huge demand right now.

CET's BPI Building Analyst class is a five-day intensive preparation to take BPI's written test and field exam. The training provides an overview of basic building science concepts, combustion safety, and the "House as a system" approach to energy auditing and home performance contracting. The agenda includes heat transfer, thermal comfort, moisture management, airflow standards, baseload reduction strategies, building envelope inspection, air sealing and insulation techniques, locating thermal and pressure boundaries, pressure diagnostics, mechanical ventilation requirements, duct leakage testing, and combustion safety. The course is best suited for those individuals who have a background in construction, contracting, home performance or inspection industries. High school level algebra and geometry will be utilized.

CET's BPI Envelope Professional class is a three-day intensive preparation to take BPI's written test and field exam. The training will cover advanced building envelope diagnostic, evaluation and repair skills. The agenda will include a review of some Building Analyst topics, but BPI BA certification is required to register for this course.

All of the instruction is a combination of classroom study and hands-on experience in the field.

The Online Exam will be given in the afternoon on the last day of class.
Field Exams will be scheduled by appointment the next three business days following the class, or up to 30 days after the last day of class.

CET also offers stand-alone field mentoring, as well as online and field exams. Email or call 413.586.7350 ext. 240 to find out more.
