Greening Your Community: Leading By Example - October, 2008
Workshops for municipalities
Berkshires: October 21
Pioneer Valley: October 28
Tuesdays, 8:00 a.m. to noon
Berkshires: Hancock Shaker Village, Pittsfield, MA
Pioneer Valley: U.S. Office of Fish & Wildlife, Hadley, MA
Across western Massachusetts, community leaders are seeking ways to address rising energy costs and citizen concern about climate change. For this reason, CET is offering workshops for municipalities that will highlight concrete steps you can take to "green" your communities. A great place to start is with your own municipal operations, including the town hall, town garage, schools, and water treatment facilities. You will also learn about renewable energy opportunities and green building strategies.
Speakers from towns will share success stories, challenges, lessons learned and information about tools and resources to help communities accomplish goals. In addition, organizations with resources (technical and financial) will provide information about their services and will be available to talk with you one-on-one at the end.
For municipal officials, key staff and concerned citizens.
Pre-registration is required. Contact
